Eleanor Deckert I didn't want to write it!
"10 Days in April... a detour through breast cancer..."
Who wants to read about breast cancer? Too scary! Too personal!
Then I realized how many zillions of us have had to face it.
I thought "If I can help one person ..."
So, I typed out my Journal (horrible typos, very emotional to re-read) and then started to organize the 8 months Journey into the "10 days..." format.
Eleanor Deckert I stay in bed and think of what's next. I jot it down, then go type.
Eleanor Deckert Make an outline!
You can write what ever piece comes to mind, and put it where it needs to go.
Eleanor Deckert "The Little Book of Lykke" by Meik Wiking
"The Path Made Clear" by Oprah Winfrey
"The Little Book of Hygge" by Meik Wiking
everything by Brene Brown!
Eleanor Deckert I am so fascinated with the next book: Book 5, 6, & 7 will be in one volume. "10 Days in May... Talents" will share my earliest awareness of interests: dance, reading, teaching, writing... "10 Days in June... Treasure" will show how those early interests developed into volunteer activities and from there into ways to earn money! "10 Days in July... Time To Tell" will open up all of the seminars I have facilitated which are the fruit of those early seedlings. I am always fascinated with very young children and try to allow them to show me their authentic selves. Now I turn my skills to observe my own life and "watch" Little Me develop!
Eleanor Deckert I am snowed in for many days each winter. Writing keeps my mind active when I cannot see friends, participate in community outings. I guess you could say, I go "in" instead of out. Then, in the spring and summer and fall, I travel, speak and share my books with Readers. The seasons shift and my writing is possible because of the isolation.
Eleanor Deckert I keep pen and paper beside my bed... and a night light. I capture an idea in half-sleep, carry it to my waking mind. Repeat it. Then turn on the light and write it down. In the early morning, I wrap in my down-filled robe, brew tea, and type that thought onto the computer. Might need to make a new file, or save it for later, or insert it into a place I was already working.
