I'm actually writing through most of this summer. And the majority of the books I read would make most people nod off. Most of them cluster around research. But this one will suck you in: 'From the Forest: A Search for the Hidden Roots of our Fairy Tales' by Sara Maitland. That, and about a half dozen books on Ancient Egypt. What are you reading?

For short visits (since health concerns would make long ones impossible)? I would like to go to the Mirkwood and hang out with the Sylvan elves and their King -- visit Rivendell and Lothlorian with them.

I don't rely so much on inspiration as preparation, really. BUT... good music helps!

I'd had the idea for the gutsy girl sleuth in my Cardinal Machines series for years, but... there was something missing! It turned out that was the C001-Oisín (the prototype custom Ocean) android that turns Cardinal Machines into a near-future science fiction. It hit me during a friend's Twitch gaming livestream. From there, the first book came together (at long last) in no time!
