I love watching the characters take on a life of their own - and take over the story! Sometimes I write things that were definitely not in the notes sitting by my keyboard because the character decided to take the story into his/her own hands.

When I have writer's block, I sometimes stand up and move around, find something else to do for a while...and sometimes I stare at my computer screen for an obscene amount of time, tapping my fingers on the keys and getting absolutely nowhere.

Daisies in the Rain was inspired by a young lady I met several years ago who faces physical challenges every day. She struggles with doubts and uncertainties, but also has a love for life that keeps her going and doing the things she loves. Daisies in the Rain was my way of showing her how incredible she is - how incredible we ALL are.
