I'm currently working on Book #2 in The Manakor Chronicles. It is the second book in the series after The Firebrand Legacy, and it follows the same characters. It should be on the shelves in early 2017.

Write. Write down your ideas. Write down dialogue. Write down images. Submit your work for contests and read it to your friends. Practice, practice, practice.
On top of that, read. Read anything you can get your hands on. Enjoy the story and think about why the author made the plot or character decisions she made.
Finally, take heart! It takes time, practice, and determination to meet your goals. Bear criticism gently, write even when it's hard, and never give up!
