I have to say at present, my most beloved couple is Aristocrat, Fitzwilliam Darcy and the wonderfully witty and supremely bold, Miss Elizabeth Bennett. The drama and tension between the two is most exquisite and deliciously suspenseful. The young, lovely Miss Bennett, unwittingly tames the snobbish, good-looking beast until he can stand it no longer and must win her hand. What is there not to love about this effervescent tale of English rural romance? Cinderella and the Prince at it's finest!

Currently, I'm writing short stories, at least one a month. (Although, they usually take a day or two to write.)I have a 'Featured Story' on my web page that I try to supply with fresh stories each month. I also like to enter lots of contests and they usually want 1500 to 20,000 word short stories. I'm also halfway through a new novel, a love story, of course, which I haven't titled yet, but I will. I don't try to force anything, because I know eventually, the light will come on and I'll say, yes that's perfect! When the answer comes! I'm also drawing pictures for a little video I'm working on for Expecting to Fly, New Wings to download on my web page.

You have to find topics you're passionate about, otherwise, you'll not only bore your readers, but you'll bore yourself too, and you'll find yourself actually dreading to complete your story. It's the passion that drives you forward and makes you anxious to keep going on it. I find mostly, I can't wait to get back to where I left off. Be prepared to be alone, to make sure you have time without interruption, and be ready to do lots of research. Thank goodness for the internet. You won't believe how much you have to research, even writing fiction, to make sure your timeline is correct. That the current events that happened in your time era are accurate. You can't have a character watching a football game during baseball season, or have them listening to a song in 1988 that wasn't created until 2010. You'll also need to research the publishing process; how to submit to agents or publishers. Have a simple synopsis, have an idea of the beginning and ending and what it is you want to accomplish.

It's all about creating your own world and weaving all of your own feelings, dreams, beliefs and experiences into the story. I love getting to know who my character's are and developing who they are and what's happening to them. I cry, I laugh, I get angry right along with them. For me it can be very therapeutic and relaxing. Sometimes I find myself on the edge of my seat, wondering how things will work out. But most of all, it's one of the greatest pleasures I've ever known and I'm thankful for the ability to be able to write.

I seldom have writer's block, but when I do it's usually because I'm tired or have had a busy or stressful day, and I know when I'm like that, I have to sleep some extra hours, or do something else. I love to use my paint program so I will usually draw or work on another project or story, for a day or two, or even a week, then when I sit back down to write, I easily get right back into it. I'm passionate about my characters and what's going on with them, so taking time off gives me time to build their character and take lots of notes with what I'm thinking. I always have a notebook and my mind always thinks about what's going to happen next and how it will affect my character's.
