Ram Chandra Khatri For several years, I have lived a postponed life. All beautiful and important things that I postponed for future have turned useless because your perspectives and interests towards life completely change by that point of time. Even more interesting, when I make plans sometimes, they turn to be longer than our lives. In other words, when I make important life plans, I completely forget about the average length of human life.
Ram Chandra Khatri I would revisit my past and restart many things that I pretend I don't hate them doing at present.
Ram Chandra Khatri Frist, without visualizing a clear picture of setting, story and characters, I can't write. That's why I revisit places and settings to clearly visualize what I am going to write. Second, if something dwells in my mind strongly, that doesn't fade away along with the passing time. That grows more and more like a cancer. The only solution to stop that is to write. (Unfortunately, this doesn't sound like my very own idea because Marquez said it already).
Ram Chandra Khatri Honesty! Honesty is the secret gem to be a good writer. To be the best and successful writer, you have to be honest. This is what is reflected in his/her work and this is how a writer can truly and honestly enter the hearts of many readers and can represent true human sentiments.
Ram Chandra Khatri Read at least representative classical and modern works of literatures giving focus to their techniques of writing. Thus, you can avoid repeating the similar types of work. The more you study what already have been written, the better for innovation and originality in your writing. Something like T.S. Eliot has once said in his Tradition and Individual Talent.
Ram Chandra Khatri I have been working on book projects full time. Currently, I am involved in the marketing & promotion of my graphic novel Justice: A Tale of the Nepali Civil War (book #1). At the same time, I'm also working with the illustrator for the two additional series of this graphic novel.
Ram Chandra Khatri I started my writing and publishing career from 'translation' which includes the Nepali rendering of Franz Kafka's 'The Metamorphosis.' Coming to the United States, I completed my master's degree in print and digital publishing following my first master's in English literature. In the US, I got an opportunity to observe the book business from close and noticed the diversity gaps in the industry. This really inspired me to write and publish.
Ram Chandra Khatri I was born and raised in the Himalayan country of Nepal. My current graphic novel is based on the Nepali civil war. While working for a national newspaper back there, I translated and edited several news stories based on the Nepali civil war that occurred between 1996 to 2006. Coming to present, I further researched the war-affected victims' heart-touching stories and their fight against the injustices before developing into the form of this graphic novel.
