Sung Yee Poon Read (I don't mean just books, even life or people). Writing is the best way to understand yourself, others, life and the world. It's like food in daily life, you don't have to get inspired to write. Just write.
Sung Yee Poon Keep reading and writing but I am not qualified to answer the question because I am still an aspiring and struggling writer.

Don't take anybody's words as final. One time I tried very hard to hire an editor in Taiwan to help improve my English manuscript. They were mostly ESL teachers for cram schools, technical editors for scientific papers or English editor for government publications. They thought my manuscript was so terrible that they told me to give up. Yet when I went to US and read a few pages to the San Francisco writer's group with writers in all walks of life from around the world, everyone loved it.

The same thing happened to me when I wrote in Chinese decades ago. Those people who told me to forget it all meant well. When I finally got published whether in newspapers or books, the editors thought highly of my writing.

Sung Yee Poon My next project "Buddhas of All Colors", editing and formatting to publish my next book "Let the Heart Go in Peace" on Amazon.
Sung Yee Poon So happy to just read and write.
