Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Elle Ellerton Nowhere. I literally sat down on January 1st 2015, having made a new year's resolution to finally write a novel, and just started typing. The story formed as I wrote, and it actually went in a totally different direction than I thought it would. Writer's block visited often. I'm definitely going to plan my next story a little better before writing. It's far easier to stay focused on the road ahead when you know where it's leading! (Though sometimes it is exciting, not knowing where you'll end up).

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Elle Ellerton The freedom to create anything you want. Whole new worlds, futures, characters, inventions; anything. Also, the possibility that your words may move another person, emotionally. That's probably my favourite part, of all.

How do you get inspired to write?

Elle Ellerton Music often inspires me. The lyrics of a song might inspire the plot of a story, or they sometimes just create the beginnings of a character in my mind.
