Some days you'll sit down and 10,000 words will come pouring out of your mind without effort. Then, for the next three days, nothing. If you have the luxury of time, don't force it. If you're on a deadline don't wait until the last day. Force yourself to write a certain amount each day so you don't leave yourself staring at a blank screen and no time. That said, every writer is different and the pressure of a deadline may actually work for you.

Write first. Worry about everything else after you have actually written 80,000 plus words. So many potential authors want to discuss with me marketing, sales, location of book stores, etc. And I say to all of them, "until you have actually sat down and written something, don't even talk to me."
