Jane Hinchey Move away from the computer. Sitting and staring at the cursor isn't going to help. Usually I go for a walk. And I try not to wrap up my writing for the day at the end of a scene. It's harder to pick it up next time. Best to leave things in the middle of a drama filled scene, then it's surprisingly easy to get back into it.
Jane Hinchey Being able to work from home with no bra!
Jane Hinchey Do it. Start writing today. And don't get caught up in perfectionism. Keep writing, don't go back and edit what you've just written, plough on and get that fast 'ugly' draft written.
Jane Hinchey A story about a girl who is abducted by aliens and her desperate battle to get back to Earth. She does make it back, but she's changed, and so has Earth.
Jane Hinchey Some days it's easy, I usually dream about my stories, so they're demanding to be written. Other days it's a bit harder to put fingers to keyboard, but as long as I write something each day, even if it's only for 5 minutes, that takes me one step closer to finishing my book.
Jane Hinchey I get most of my ideas from reading other books, watching TV shows and movies, and just letting my imagination run wild. One little passage from a book or scene from a movie can be enough to trigger an idea that leads to a book.
