Beth Pipe A long story which I explain in the introduction but basically we discovered an interesting old book while researching our first book, this led to another book, which led to an idea, which led to our current book.
Beth Pipe Again, the outdoors. Also keeping my eyes and ears open and letting my mind wander - it's amazing where it will lead you!
Beth Pipe A book about the history of Cumbria told by exploring 10 ancient routes through the county. First draft completed this week (13/1/19) final copy deadline end of Feb and hopefully out by summer 2019.
Beth Pipe Just write. Keep writing. I started out as a blogger then got approached by a publisher who liked the blog.

Also realise that writing the book is the easy part in many ways - once you've written it you have to promote it and sell it and that's where a LOT of the fun starts. Getting your voice heard in a crowded market is tough so be prepared to learn about sales and marketing, get lively on social media, make contacts, pester people, attend events, anything that will get you out there. Staying home and waiting to be discovered is NOT a good strategy.
Beth Pipe OK, this sounds cheesy - but doing something I love and sharing it with others. Oh, and working in your PJs - that rocks. In fact I'm wearing them right now...
Beth Pipe I go for a walk - the outdoors can fix most things and I'll usually find inspiration there.
