Hm... this is a hard one as there are so many good couples that have been written. If I am limited to just one, I would have to go with Victor Steiner-Davion and Omi Kurita from the Classic Battletech novel series. I picked these two because they started out like Romeo and Juliet but just without the [total] tragic ending as they did live happily for some time and had a child together until she was taken out by an assassin.
Needless to say when that happened in the book series the book went flying across the room. -_-

I'd have to say the ability to create my own worlds is the best thing about being a writer. There you get your own sandbox to play in to do whatever you'd like to do.

The best piece of advice that I had ever received came from one of my favorite authors, Loren Coleman, who I had the privilege of meeting and talking to at GenCon one year and that is; "Don't fear the red ink." If you have editors involved in your writing process your story will undergo a lot of revisions. Nowadays its electronic so that could be amended to be 'Don't fear the red corrections in MS Word' but that's not as catchy, I think.

Shadow (Jaegers of the Consortium #1) started off as a simple erotic scene that then expanded into a modern-based romance. Unfortunately I was having problems getting some of the mechanics to work for what I wanted to do with the plot and so that idea got scrapped. I then tried placing it into a fantasy setting and a sci-fi setting but the mechanics got even worse. When I stumbled into Steampunk, everything just seemed to click into place thanks to my new found publishers and editors at Steam Romance!

I was first inspired to write back in middle school when we had an assignment to look into the book "The Mysteries of Harris Burdick" by Chris Van Allsburg, select one of the pictures and starting lines, and then write a story based off of it. I was hooked into creative writing ever since.
More recently, I get inspired to write stories from a variety of sources. I could be walking down the street, see something, and think 'hm, that'd make a good story' and then I'd write about it or incorporate it into an existing story.

I am currently working on two more books for the Jaegers of the Consortium series as well as a prequel book in the same world.

Usually I take a break from writing by reading other books, watching a movie, playing a game, work with models, or even writing a story that is totally different than the one that I am working on.
