E.M. Beastly Not sure what you want me to elaborate on? The Greek myth or my story? My story, "Lust and the Spider,' is based on the horror short story "The Spider," by Hanns Heinz Ewers. You will find many similarities between my story and his. Only mine is erotica and his is not.
I find it an interesting challenge to take on such stories and turn them into playful erotica.
As for the spider. in both my story and Ewers. The spider is a classic symbol of sex and death - the spider kills its mate. But where horror likes to show the dangers of lust and temptation, I take it on an opposite spin. I see sex something trans-formative. Even though it has its dangers, and we have justifiable fears of it. My stories of sex and monsters are about overcoming those fears.
