Jannifer Gregory I am currently working on a sequel for Windigos Howling. Sierra's family travels to Mammoth Cave National Park. It's not quite done yet, but many of the events were started by a recent trip their with my family and friends.
Jannifer Gregory I consider myself an aspiring writer, so I guess my answer is more about how I view my writing and more precisely the publishing aspects of writing. The writing part is probably the best part of the process for all writers. Writing allows you to tell a tale that will capture and hold someone's imagination for a time. The publishing part requires more business sense and the ability to take no constructively.

My biggest piece of advice is to remember that the reader is your final critic. If you are getting good feedback from readers, the rest of what you hear is just noise.
Jannifer Gregory As I am not a full time writer, yet, writer's block doesn't plague me much. I wait until a good idea strikes me and then I write. Occasionally, I have been stumped about a characters next move. When I walk away and let my brain noodles it for a bit, then a solution always presents itself.
Jannifer Gregory Being a writer let's me indulge my imagination. Anything can happen in these books. I love sitting in a quiet space and letting my imagination free. Sometimes I think I am more surprised than anyone how a book turns out!
Jannifer Gregory The sequel to Windigos Howling is in progress. For this trip Sierra's family will be visiting Mammoth Cave National Park.
Jannifer Gregory Inspiration for this novel comes from my childhood in the vast nature of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and my travels to Isle Royale and many other national parks. Our national parks are filled with fantastic natural sights and rich cultural histories. So many kids never get a chance to visit these parks or don’t appreciate them when they are lucky enough to go. It’s hard for them to see the uniqueness of these parks when their heads are bent over electronics. I created Sierra to introduce kids to the parks in a fun manner, to help them see beyond the 1,000,000th tree. These parks are one of our children’s links to their environment that will be so important for them to protect as they grow older. Hopefully, Sierra and her family will help raise students’ consciousness of their environment and their willingness to preserve it.
