My series, The Whole Truth, has a great deal of personal experience--embellished and changed to protect the innocent, of course. I wanted to write a teen romance novel that dealt with real issues. The immaturity and stupidity of first love. The games we play in high school. That magical sensation that comes over you the first time you feel your heart pound in your chest. The confusion you experience when your gut clenches just at the mere sight of "the one" and the painful reality of love that follows. The series also shows what perseverance and determination can finally accomplish--if you truly believe.

I've always loved to write. I was one of those dorks that always kept diaries and journals. My original inspiration came from an awesome...awesome professor I had for a composition class in college. I loved to write, but I never thought about writing for others until she gave me the praise and confidence I needed to believe my words were worth sharing. Now, when I need a boost of fresh inspiration, I head to our cabin (my quiet place) OR I schedule a signing. Kind words from my fans always pump me up and put me in the mood.

I am working on my final book in my series "The Whole Truth". I hope to have it available by late summer or early fall 2016. I have also started and been collecting thoughts and notes on a stand alone novel I hope to release sometime in 2017. The new novel will be more of a chick lit comedy. I have friends that are completely insane, they are some crazy good inspiration.

If writing is a passion, just do it. Put the pen on the paper and let the juices flow. When you are finished, do your homework. Talk to other authors. Read as much advise as you can about writing with style. Take notes! After you've done this, write your book again, or at least re-write it. Keep doing this until you are happy with the finished product. Once you are happy, find those beta readers, editors, etc., that will polish your end result. My first book took five years worth of changes before I was satisfied.

Well...it's not the money, lol. Although I'm social, I'm kind of an introvert. I'm also a day dreamer. Writing has always came natural. When I decided to write my first book, I couldn't stop. I think for me, the best part of writing is sharing something intimate in my head and having fans tell me how moved they were from my words.

I change my scenery or my itinerary. Sometimes this helps, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes a glass of wine or a strong cup of coffee will trigger something in my brain. If I have total block, I put down the pen and try later. I have found that when the non-creative funk is fogging my brain, my writing sucks anyway and a re-do is mandatory.
