Xavier is in the sack. Multiple descriptions pointed to food residue in his teeth, mismatched suit coat and slacks. And a few chapters before Bruno asks Sabina if she's seen Xavier. His murder is a part of Guy de Forney's mop-up job.
Thanks for the nice review. The problem with writing in the ticking-clock style is that you must jump back and forth between situations and characters. Admittedly, now that I'm no longer looking into the full sun of multiple plots, I can look back and see that I might have been better served to just write two congruent books.
