The only way to learn to write is to write a lot and read a lot, but mostly write. I think of it like riding a bike. You can watch tons of people ride a bike really well and think--oh yeah, I can do that. You can read every book on how to ride a bike and feel like you have learned so much. But you can never really ride a bike unless you climb on it and give it a try. The first few times you try, you fall into that bush, scrape your knee and elbow on the cement. The most important part is getting back up and trying again. The more you practice, the better you get at riding that bike.
I feel like writing is very similar. You can't learn unless you start doing it. You can read all the amazing writers, you can take tons of classes and workshops about writing, but you learn by doing it. You've got to give it a try, fall a few times (note everyone will like what you write), get a bunch of scrapes and bruises along the way, but then you are sailing along and the ride is amazing.

i love writing new stories and don't have a big problem with writer's block. What I do get is what I call editor's block. Sometimes fear gets in my way and I struggle with figuring out how to fix any story problems. What helps me to push through this fear is creating goals and a timeline to complete them.
