I have been fortunate so far that I haven't had terrible writer's block, but when the words aren't flowing, I will get up and go do something else and come back later. I find if I am thinking about the story and the characters while I am doing other things, then when I sit down to write, I am ready to go.

For me the best thing about being a writer is the ability to create something. I love starting with a blank page (or screen) and creating characters and stories that feel real.
The other part that I love is that I can write on my own time and work around my children's schedules, so I don't miss anything.

I am currently working on the beginning of my third book. It is too new at this point to share anything, but the characters are completely different from those in my first two books.

Most of the ideas for my book come from two places - either things I see/hear in my daily life, or personal events from my past. However, I take a tiny idea out of something that happened in reality and then use that as a jumping off point. By the time if finished writing the paragraph or chapter, it doesn't even resemble what really happened.
