Ideas usually come to me in those strange predawn hours where I am not quite awake...and not quite asleep either. But no novel idea I have had has ever been solely one idea, so a novel is usually a combination of two or three ideas, from anywhere: from dreams to snatches of conversation in a busy pub. My most recent endeavour is based on a cult, a phenomenon which has fascinated me for many years, and which I have always wanted to write about. So here goes!

This is a strange admission, and one I have only thought of right now, but I don't think I have ever really had writer's block. More than once I've gotten to a point where I have effectively written myself into a corner and have had to step away from whatever I am writing. But the problem hasn't been being able to write, just what exactly it is I should be writing. I've never not been able to put pen to paper.
