For Retirement Noir I worked at an independent living facility. I often wondered what kind of things go on with the residents while I was in the office. My imagination blended it with the hardboiled detective genre - a la Sam Spade and film noir. So we ended up with a thriller comedy about an old detective on a not so wild goose chase.

Dreams and discussions with friends. I have a lot of friends who are storytellers rather than writers. It's easy to discuss world building and character concepts with them. Also having story hobbies - RPGs (tabletop and video games), reading, and creating/admiring artwork.

I'm editing a zombie genre parody to self-publish. I'm also trying to prepare the first of a fantasy trilogy involving world mythology for traditional publishing. Another fantasy based on the last grimoire. A sci fi thriller with immoral experiments and an alien war. Lots of projects well on their way.

Clearly reading a lot and writing every day. Look to the books on the subject by more notable authors than me. Stephen King's On Writing.

I love writing! Creating stories and putting some of my best jokes into the world in hopes that people will enjoy them. I love being able to follow my story and characters as it is built day by day.

I have a lot of ongoing projects and I find that any time I stall out I can move to something else for a few days. I also like to end each night leaving myself a clear idea of where I'm headed for the next day.
