I know the 2nd book will be equally fantastic, you have a wonderful talent of creating a masterful heart gripping story. What was the hardest part of writing Copper's story?
Marcy McKay Thank you for your belief in me, Tonya. It really does help pushing me along with book #2. This may sounds silly, but the hardest part was "staying with the darker elements of Copper's story." I'm a happy person and try to live a drama-free life, while Copper's life was rife with drama, at every turn.

It was painful to think about, research and write. To know I had to enter that world day after day. I often wanted to throw Pennies away and write a fun rom-com. However, I believe a writer's #1 responsibility is to tell the truth, so I sat with the discomfort and told her truth to the best of my ability.

I just finished Pennies from Burger Heaven and all I can say is wow! Can you give me a hint as to when book 2 will be released? I'm looking forward to learning more about the characters.

You're asking the million dollar question about book #2. I'm hard at work finding the new mystery, but it's not coming easily. I want to say it'll be the end of 2016, but more than likely it'll be 2017. I wish it was faster, but I want to make sure it's another great read for you, and not just throw something out there.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Marcy McKay I drove through the gates of my local cemetery one autumn afternoon, and the voice of little girl started whispering in my ear. That was the voice of my protagonist, Copper Daniels, and she began telling me her story, "Pennies from Burger Heaven."

Marcy McKay Reading other books that I love inspires me to do the same for my readers.

Marcy McKay I'm writing book #2 in the Burger Heaven series called, "Hell Bent and Heaven Bound."

Marcy McKay Creating stories I love for readers who enjoy them just as much.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Marcy McKay Writer's block = fear. For me, I just have to write faster than the fear. As crazy as it sounds - the only way to make writer's block go away is to WRITE.
