I love Fire with Fire so much! I wish you would continue it! What inspired you to write the book?
Destiny Soria I'm so glad you liked it! Unfortunately, it's usually not up to an author whether or not their book gets a sequel. The publisher makes the decision based on sales and other factors. But I'm so glad it's finding readers who love it!

I wrote this book because I love dragons and sister feels and magic and the Smoky Mountains, and I wanted to write a book with all of them!

Destiny Soria Hi Rachel, there's no sequel planned for Iron Cast unfortunately.

I read the letter you wrote in the front of the ARC copy and I wanted to thank you SO much for writing a book with such a strong message of loyal, fun, crazy female friends!! They were so strong together, which for me made their adventure so much more realistic and readable. Thanks! Do you have a sequel planned?

When you begin a story, does it begin with a character, a setting, a plot, or etc.? And how do you flesh out the idea from that first inkling? Thank you!
Destiny Soria Hi Caitlyn, it varies from project to project, but I'd say it usually begins with a "What if?" question that pops into my head at inopportune moments. For example, Iron Cast sprang from "What if poets, musicians, and other artists had their own type of magic?". After that, I write, write, write, until a story starts to take shape, following all the bunny trails I find along the way. Then I revise, revise, revise, rinse, repeat.
