It has to be Eve and Roarke from JD Robb's In Death series. I picked up the first book, Naked In Death, from the library several years ago and became hooked. Imagine my joy when I realised how many books there are in the series! I am about to read No 44, Echoes In Death.

I got to thinking - my husband and I don't have any kids, so who would inherit anything we had when the survivor passed on. Then I started thinking how, sometimes. we think something belongs to us, that it is ours by right. If that is the case, how far would you go to get what you feel is truly yours?

It can come from anywhere. Usually the inspiration for ideas will come from hearing or seeing something and thinking - what if? I also tend to finish writing for the day before the end of a scene or at the start of a new one. That way I can hit the keyboard and be up and running as soon as I open up scrivener.
However, most of the truly inspired ideas come, I think, from the subconscious mind. You are typing away and suddenly think, "Wow - I didn't see that coming.", and I'm the one who is writing it!

I'm on the first draft of the second Le Claire mystery, which will be published later this year. We follow Le Claire in hunting down a killer and his journey takes him back to his London haunts.

I just write what might be rubbish! I'd rather get some words on the page than none. I can always correct them the next day.
