Now, I’m completing work on the manuscript titled “Ming Yellow”—a historical adventure whose mise en scene is China in 1935. This is a derivate work from John P. Marquand’s 1935 novel of the same title. All the legalities are settled.

I’ve been writing for years. In my professional career, I wrote articles for trade magazines, and peer-reviewed papers for professional journals, columns, and book reviews. After I retired, I switched gears to fiction and started “St. Catherine’s Crown.” Took about ten years of off and on work to complete the narrative.

When I was a nipper, I read a short story about Grand Duchess Anastasia. Somehow she was alive and living incognito in the USA. The idea that she survived the regicide had always intrigued me. My novel “St. Catherine’s Crown: started as a short story, then evolved into a longer short story, then into a novella, then into the current book.
