So glad you are enjoying it, Renee. I had thought about a sequel, but that will be easier to sell to my husband if I can get this novel moving. :) I do have ideas though....I do have ideas....

Ha, good question, Kathy. It goes back to my temperament, I guess. I was just thinking about this myself yesterday, and laughing at how little I've changed over the years. I remember as a young child my mother chiding me because I would invite someone to a gathering and then tell them all the reasons they might not like it! I feel everything can be improved. I love my book, but I realize that not everyone will have the emotional connections to my characters that I do. As it is my first novel, I wanted to hear the unbiased feedback of others, so I gave it four stars. I am who I am. There it is...now should I tell you what you might not like in my story! :)

As I sat exhausted enduring a 'red-eye' flight, I leaned my head against the cold window hoping to sleep. The vibrations jarring through my body only increased, and I shifted helplessly back to a new position....and my novel came to life that dark night.
Mail-order brides have always intrigued me, but when I found out my husband's grandmother left her home in Italy to marry a man she never met, the concept personalized. Why does anyone leave their roots and travel across the world to marry a stranger? The idea piqued my curiosity.
Years later, our family moved from my New England roots across the country to my husband's birthplace. Like my heroine, Selena, I experienced the beauty of the Columbia River as it swept into view. I identified with the distinct wonders of this new land, and I fell in love with its beauty.
Spring Thaw is not Grandma Serafin’s story any more than it is mine, but snippets of our lives permeate the pages.
