My first 2 books of fiction (Inspirational Romance) were loosely based on real events and situations that I knew or had observed. I believe the best fiction is based on fact and is more real and challenging.
My new title 'Shaped' is my biography so was a long time coming but was a story I just had to tell. It burst out of me and I couldn't stop writing.

I'm currently concentrating on marketing my 3 titles before I begin writing another. I write to encourage and uplift and that can't happen if the hard copies remain in my garage and the info re e-books isn't easily found.

Write, write, and keep writing. After knockbacks and rejections, write again and don't give up. If you believe your story should be told, tell it in a way that inspires acceptance. It's worth the wait to finally see your manuscript in print.

The satisfaction of seeing vague ideas grow into something meaningful on the page is rewarding. Having a publisher accept your work is also very rewarding. However the most rewarding thing for me is receiving positive feedback from readers who have been helped in some way by my books.

I go for a swim or a walk along the beach. That always seems to clear my head. Time away from the computer clears the fuzz. Sometimes I take a whole day and purposefully concentrate on other things. Surprisingly, when I sit down to write again, the creative juices kick in and I'm off and running.
