As a published author, nothing quite describes holding your first published book in your hand, with your name on the cover, the blurb on the back, the feel of a brand new book, and the fact that this piece of work that you're holding, right now, is something that you've lovingly created, and will bring pleasure to other people. It's a very, very nice feeling.

Sometimes an idea for a couple of paragraphs comes to mind, and I just need to get it written down. Before I know it, a couple of pages have been written. Sure, it needs tweaking, but I've got the gist of what I want to get across to my readers.

My most recent book, The Black Shadow, was an idea that was bouncing around in my head for a few years. I knew how I wanted it to start, but I wasn't sure how what path I wanted it to go down. So it took a while for a real idea to formulate, and when it did, I started putting pen to paper (actually, it was fingers to keyboard, but that doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?) and the work flowed from there.
