Alexander Ferrick I don't have a summer reading list actually. I have a summer writing list of all the ideas I need to finish.... It is LONG.
Alexander Ferrick Just... Life, I suppose. I have a current work-in-progress that was inspired by watching a handful of food-delivery robots getting in a traffic accident.
Alexander Ferrick Have you moved on?

Yes, but when I close my eyes, I see her face.
Alexander Ferrick CHESSSSSSS! Actually that's a bit misleading. It's CHESS, which is an acronym for Crystal Helix Enhanced Super Soldier. It is written more or less. My team and I are just putting the finishing touches on the editing. It is slated for release in late March.

CHESS will use the science fiction principle of genetic modification to explore what it is that makes us human, and how much more powerful the human soul is than any technological advancement. Plus it's got telekinetic aliens, lasers, swords, and nanobots, which are cool.
Alexander Ferrick Write. Whatever you do, whatever its about, just keep writing, and if you need inspiration, read one of my books!
Alexander Ferrick I don't have any one cure for writer's block. Sometimes, I will start working on a different project and come back to the one I'm struggling with later. Other times I just like to start pontificating, making stuff up off the cuff that has nothing to do with my story, and then see if I can hitch it up to the book I'm working on. Those passages usually turn into monologues by characters, and they often help give birth to the scene in which they take place.
Alexander Ferrick Hack3r takes a lot of influence from other cyberpunk stories that have preceded it, perhaps most obviously from The Matrix films. I've always been fascinated by Virtual Reality, and it was not a stretch to write about it, but the first few images to come to me for Hack3r, ironically, are set in the real world of Hack3r, not the online one. It started with the image of the skyscrapers of Los Angeles protruding from the sea, and grew outard from there.
