The Destiny series are young adult (YA) books, so can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike. No sex, no nudity, no language. I would recommend for ages 12 and up, but I have had readers as young as eight enjoy the books.
Forecast of Shadows is for an older YA audience since the content is more gritty - violence, mention of rape. I would recommend for older teens.

A dream:-) All I could remember was the monster, the two people sitting on a bench discussing what they'd seen and that they had to get answers. When I write the idea down, it was no more than half a page. It became 4 novels and a novella.

You're absolutely right - Doors of Destiny is not the last book. Not sure what made people think that:-) The next book in the series, Duel of Death, will be the last book - coming out in October/November.
