Edison G.S. You have freedom to go to places that don’t exist. You get to be your characters. Somehow you understand them. Life is not just a straight line; it has many turns.
Edison G.S. Just do what you like. To quote Jim Carrey, ““You can fail at what you don't want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.” So don’t be afraid of trying what you love even though there will be a lot of people who will say you have little chance of achieving anything. Trust me, if you work hard on it, you will achieve success, no matter how unlikely it might seem.
Edison G.S. I just recently finished writing the first draft of my second book of Throne of Demons. But I will have to do many more drafts before publishing it, plus the time that my editor might take. I have given participation to almost every small character and the story will develop them. At the end of the first book, it is clear that there is trouble to come and nobody is safe, so in my second book, all characters become important. That’s why I will need many drafts, to make sure all secondary characters are well developed.
Edison G.S. My first inspiration came when I learned to do self-publishing, about a year ago. I started publishing books under pennames, with the purpose of making a small income. I learned many tools to get my book published.
One day I realized that I didn’t need a publishing house to get books to the public, and I realized that I had the potential to publish my book as I wanted years ago. It took me less than a day to reconnect with my passion. I had just graduated from college and had no luck finding a job, so I decided to give a try to my passion, to what I really wanted. Sometimes, you need to fail your “safe plan” to take the risk of doing what you really want. Since my inspiration came back to me, I get inspire everyday by the simplest things. Just watch a couple talking and read their expressions. You get to understand what they feel and then you will want to portrait that feeling in your characters.
Edison G.S. Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
My idea had been in my mind for about ten years. It came to me when I was living in my home country. I tried to write my book although it had a very different name and settings back then, but I got caught in the terrible ideology that I needed a publishing house to get my book to the public. I was just few years over my teenager years and had no idea on how to reach a publishing house, so I eventually forgot about it.
