Stefan Scheuermann I write. I write anything, without fear of the work being bad. I can always edit later or remove it entirely from the manuscript. When I have a block, and I just start scribbling, I often unclog the block, and some of my best work follows.
Stefan Scheuermann The working title of my current project is "Kyra", though that might change. It begins in Hungary during the Black Death in 1349. The title character is swept into a life entirely foreign to her.
Stefan Scheuermann I ponder the deepest feelings of the characters , and the story develops from those feelings. The characters' fears and hopes steer the direction of the plot.
Stefan Scheuermann The protagonist in Brighter than the Flames is my 10th great-grandmother. I discovered her during genealogical research and was inspired to know more. When I found little on her, I decided to write her story myself. The book is "based on actual events", but it means much more to me than that.
Stefan Scheuermann People come into my life each year. When they do, I have no idea which of them will affect me profoundly and change the course of my future. They rarely are as they appear at first. This is a fundamental theme of my writing.
