I write. I write anything, without fear of the work being bad. I can always edit later or remove it entirely from the manuscript. When I have a block, and I just start scribbling, I often unclog the block, and some of my best work follows.

The protagonist in Brighter than the Flames is my 10th great-grandmother. I discovered her during genealogical research and was inspired to know more. When I found little on her, I decided to write her story myself. The book is "based on actual events", but it means much more to me than that.
