In movies, I love Jim and Jessica from Man From Snowy River. I think I watched that movie roughly a billion times growing up.
In books, sheesh, is there ever a final answer? So many, but I'll try.
At this moment, I choose the traditional love of Col Brandon and Marianne (Sense & Sensibility). I love how his unswerving devotion wins her, even though she is blind to his goodness for the majority of the story. She shifts from being an emotionally erratic romantic to a steady soul, all because of the love and attentions of Brandon and her sister Elinor.

I try to unplug and be present to what's happening around me. Fairly soon I find neat things that catch my attention or random ideas begin to surface. The more I allow myself to sit quietly with these thoughts, the more ideas grow.
As for writing daily, I simply try to squeeze it into my day, even if it is only for a few minutes and even if it feels like I'm not accomplishing anything worthwhile. The daily attempt turns into something beautiful after months of this effort. It is not easy by any means, but it is worth it.

I am finishing up edits on the 2nd and 3rd of the series: Eyes in the Water and The Forbidding Blue. They will both be released sometime this year.

Be patient with yourself!
Creating a finished work involves an incredible amount of labor and time. It cannot happen overnight. Looking back, I wish I had been more understanding with myself over the messiness of the beginning stages, and just been okay with the fact that I was showing up and working.
It all comes together eventually. One bite at a time!

The idea for “The Parting Breath Series” came to me one night when I couldn’t sleep. A story began to play out in my head of a world where the land was alive and could communicate. Eventually I couldn’t take it anymore. I leaped up out of bed to go and write down the ideas before I forgot them. I found a random napkin and jotted down notes by the light of the coffee maker. That was the conception of Massada.

My readers! I've had the privilege of meeting some truly wonderful readers. I love seeing their joy and excitement. It's so fun to be a part of encouraging people to read.

Purposeful boredom! I cut out extra entertainment and instead force myself to be quiet. The more I allow for quiet inspiration, the more I am refreshed and eager to write again.
