I finished my first draft in about three months. I didn't think of filling in the lives of many characters. I wanted to get the parts that are relevant to the story first. Then, as I kept editing the draft over and over again, I kept refining the characters and their stories. That's the same with conversations and thoughts as well.

Don't let that story in your head go untold. But don't start writing unless you can commit to it and enjoy doing it. You have to force yourselves sometimes but for the most part, you would want to do it.
Put down your imagination in words. Just get the first draft ready without worrying about the end result. Once you have that, you can decide what to do with it. Just keep writing.

Making up worlds and characters and narrating their stories. Refining them as I write them. Reliving them as I improve them. Imagining someone read and connect to something I created.

I created my storyline methodically. As soon as I had the main plot, I created the main characters and their stories. Then I divided it up and started to write each chapter. I wrote my first draft so fast that I didn't get a chance to face the writer's block. My only worry was to get enough time in a day to write. The hard part came after that - to close any holes in the story and to develop some of the characters further. That's when I realized editing the draft over and over again was not fun. So, I asked a friend to read it and provide an opinion. That gave me a reason to keep editing the book.

As long as the story is in my head and I haven't finished writing it, there is a kind of restlessness that won't let me be. And I enjoy every single moment of writing. There is nothing like the feeling I get when I finish writing a good poem or a good paragraph.

I have just finished the final review of the book 'The Devil and the Deadly Peace' before it goes for bulk printing.
