Take a break, listen to music, do something to try to shake the block loose. Sit down and start writing about being blocked, what I'd like to write, and why I can't. This usually at least gets me going.

Many things! Right now I'm right in the middle of BloggingFromAZ: Character Change, where a character will be appearing at each Cauldron. I'm also going to be doing Camp NaNoWriMo, where Quartz has let me know in no uncertain terms I'm writing his story. ;)

Music, reading other people's stories or watching them, letting my reactions mull around in my head, and jotting down ideas, allowing them to blossom into scenes. Afterwards I turn the scenes into stories.

Not only my summer reading list, but my bucket list are Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles again. I want to read them slowly, savoring them, detecting exactly what made them so special to me, what lessons I can learn from them in crafting my own stories.
