Mie Hald The great mystery of gender identity - a coming of age story seen a thousand times before xD That, or the mystery of the vast amount of apples I keep finding below the oak tree in my home town...
Mie Hald My most recent book would be my first - I wrote it to cope with the loss of both my grandmothers who died within a month of each other in 2013. I needed a way to reflect on it and see Death as something less scary, something that wasn't evil, but just was.
Mie Hald I don't xD
You can't just write when you're inspired. Proper writing comes from sitting your butt down and doing the work. Inspiration comes as I go, and even when I'm in a writing slump, I force myself to write a few words almost every day. I use the NaNoWriMo program to keep track of it, and it helps me to see that I "only" need to write X amount of words in a day to finish within a given time.
Mie Hald I'm currentlly working on a Danish fantasy trilogy called "Arvingen" (the Heir) which follows the young prince Caden of Aloria - you can learn more about that on my Instagram ;-)
Mie Hald Don't listen to people who tell you to write every day. Write every day if you can - but not everyone can do that. Instead, do something every day that has something to do with your writing career - work on a plot in your head, look for character references, work out the little details!
Also, make an author platform online ASAP, also even though you don't have a book out yet. If you have a 1000 followers when your first book comes out and just 5% of those people decide to buy your book, that's 50 people who might not've considered it! I recommend Instagram and Twitter - it's easy to do, and with a few posts and proper learning, you'll get the hang of it in no time!
Mie Hald The ability to travel anywhere and live through different people. It's a magical feeling when the words turn into trees and meadows and grand castles, and sometimes I'd wish I didn't have to go back to reality!
Mie Hald I set a timer on my phone and don't move from the computer until it rings. I force myself to write - that's the only thing that'll get you going. As a writer, you can't sit around and wait for inspiration. It'll never come, and you'll never get anything done. Writing requires routine. I know it sounds tough, but that's how you deal with it...
