M.G. Ryan The inspiration for my 'Vampire Hunter Series' came from a number of different places. The most obvious is Scotland. My husband and I were lucky enough to spend a few days in Scotland and came across the beautiful little town of Dunkeld. It was just one of those places that stuck with me. It was a few years after that trip before I started writing 'From Dusk', after watching an episode of 'Supernatural'. It was then that my love of Dunkeld, Scotland, a 'Supernatural' episode and a German Shepherd of all things, gave me the basis for my book.

Authors find inspiration/ideas for their books in all sorts of different ways. I am interested in how other authors/writers find their inspirations to write and I would love to hear from people about how you get your ideas for a book/series. Even if you are not a published writer, let me know. I am intrigued as to how we all come about our ideas.

M.G. Ryan This is actually a really good question. I don't have a mystery from my own life, but I certainly have current events going on in my life that is giving me ideas for a book. I can't say too much though, I don't want to spoil anything.

M.G. Ryan My favourite fictional couple actually comes from one of my all time favourite TV shows, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. And that couple would of course be Buffy and Angel. As a couple, they faced all sorts of challenges, but whether they stayed together or broke up they still loved and respected each other. Angel was so in love with Buffy, that he made decisions with an outcome which he believed was best for Buffy's welfare, even if it meant he had to make sacrifices, including losing Buffy, because his love for her was selfless.

I hope that my characters Lexi and Jack from 'The Vampire Hunter Prophecy' series, have a similar love to Buffy and Angel. That regardless of all the challenges that are placed in front of them, they still love each other unconditionally, whether they are together or apart.
