I sat down at 4 in the morning a few months after my father left this world for the river in the life beyond here .And I wrote never realizing what I was writing until later .And in a week or so I had written 5 stories that are becoming my first children's books .At about the same time I wrote a story about Fourth ward and sent it to Big River magazine which became my first published work. My ideas are kind of like reaching into a bag blindfolded pulling out a seed ,then planting it ,watching it grow to see what you have .

I sit down and write ,never really knowing where a story will end ,When I am done I read it and then know . Very few times do I know what I am writing .Although a lot of times that little island I grew up is my inspiration, Those who lived there called it Fourth Ward ,and our very souls are still entangled in the very soils that make up that island .
