Is Your Debut Novel Going To Be A Trilogy?
Vivien Reis It's definitely a series--so far a four book series but we'll see how far the story takes me!

Who do you get to edit and proof read your books?
Vivien Reis After polishing my novel as much as I can, beta readers are my first stop, then the novel goes to a professional editor after I've made those beta changes. I did things a little backward for TEP, but that's how it's supposed to go! I found my editors by searching on Google for "freelance fiction editors" and getting recommendations from friends. For finding betas, I suggest using Goodreads and Facebook groups!

When is your book coming out?
Vivien Reis Hi Joshua! A release date has not been set yet, but I'm shooting for the end of 2017 right now! My wedding is in four weeks, so once I'm past that it's hustle time :)

Hi Vivien, I love your Youtube channel and you always inspire me to write more, and help me cope with the writer's block, so thanks for that :) I was wondering what the next novel you write might be about. Will it be set in the same kind of world or will it be something completely and utterly different? Do you know yet? :)
Vivien Reis I'm planning on writing the sequel to TEP before I work on any other story ideas (I'll also be writing a novella before TEP 2, which will be free!). After that, I don't want to say too much, but there might be dragons involved.

About the author's voice, have you had any instances where you've lost yours? *love your youtube videos btw*
Vivien Reis Thank you! Yes, if I'm reading something with a lot of purple prose, it'll reflect in my writing. For that reason I steer clear of any "strong" voices while I'm writing.

Vivien Reis This July will make 2 full years. In the final stages of editing at the moment :)

I saw your youtube video on the writing software Scrivener. I was wondering if you would suggest it. I am in middle school, and have discovered a passion for writing, but I have never had the right materials to write something longer than 20 pages. I was also wondering if it was easy to use? Thanks! Ps. I read the first chapter of your book on your website. It was very well done!
Vivien Reis Hi Cooper! I definitely recommend Scrivener. It can have a bit of a learning curve, but it's nothing outrageous. I honestly don't think I would have ever finished a novel if it weren't for Scrivener. I was far too unorganized to write in Word! Camp NaNoWriMo is going on this month, and if you "win" (meet your goal), you typically get a 50% off coupon for Scrivener.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Vivien Reis I was driving back to Tallahassee after visiting my parents and had the idea for a novel involving aliens.

The story has nothing to do with aliens now. It took off in its own direction and I love the world it developed into. The Elysian Prophecy now has a mix of mystery, magic and fantasy folklore.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Vivien Reis I outline some more! Usually if I'm stuck writing, I don't have a full concept of where I want my scene to go. I'm definitely a plotter so this always helps me. I can say now that I started outlining more thoroughly, I haven't had any writer's block in a while.
