At the risk of being a smart-ass, the book's title is Cancer Poems. I got cancer. At first I thought, "whoa, lot's of potential material." Then as I got sicker I thought, "Forget it, I'm not up to it." But the poems didn't care, and they came anyway, and ultimately I decided that the most honest thing I could do was write while in the middle of it.
