V.B. Andrian “I looked at the blaring figures of the alarm clock, and let out a groan that must have splintered the earth somewhere in the world. It was Monday morning.”
V.B. Andrian So many books, so little time... Sigh! I've only recently got immersed in the world of Kristen Ashley and, like many before me, I was hooked. So that's certainly in my plans, to keep reading her books. On top of that, I have the latest books of Sawyer Bennett to get my hands on, Sarah Castille, the new books of Harper Sloan, and I haven't even started counting!!! And let's not forget about the books I absolutely need to re-read!!! I'm starting to get anxious!!!
V.B. Andrian Mystery? I wish there was some mystery in my life, lol! But my books always contain something of me. Whether it's part of the heroine's likes or dislikes, or a secondary character's opinions or remarks, my books always have a bit of "me" in them. Mostly I'm inspired by the mystery of others' lives, whether they be imaginary or real characters.
V.B. Andrian It's not one but many. Chloe and Bennett (Beautiful Bastard, Christina Lauren) Niall and Ruby (Beautiful Secret, Christina Lauren) , Fury and Ellie (Fury, Laurann Dohner), Braden and Joss (On Dublin Street, Samantha Young), Cam and Jo (Down London Road, Samantha Young), Archer and Bree (Archer's Voice, Mia Sheridan), Brogan and Lydia (Ramsay, Mia Sheridan)... I'm not sure I can even remember each one of them. But the reasons are all the same: The chemistry between them is beautiful, no matter how alike or different each character is. I'm magnetized by the way each of their stories unfold, and how each one of them changes in a way, becoming a better version of themselves because of the person they each fall in love with.
V.B. Andrian I have Google to blame for that! I was scanning through images of hot guys - I only do that to find celebrities that fit my descriptions to better help my imagination, I swear! - and I bumped into the picture of a hottie with long, wild hair and equally long and wild beard. He looked like a Caveman! After that, my imagination took over!
V.B. Andrian Books, movies, music, reality... Weirdly enough, most of my ideas have come from my dreams! But in all that, I think it's when I get emotional that I get inspired the most. Whether I'm happy or sad, cranky or energized, it all shows in my books. The need to somehow unfurl those emotions comes out of me by hanging out with my characters!!!
V.B. Andrian I'm finishing the first installment of an Adult Romance duology named Never At Last. Its title is Out Of Sync and it will be a stand-alone novel, though linked to the second installment, Out Of Control. In the meantime, I have in mind an untitled trilogy of the same genre, for which I've already written nearly half of the first installment, and I'm looking to publish the books I've already finished: A Young Adult Fantasy trilogy titled Ordo Libertatis and an Adult Romance Paranormal tetralogy with the title Vampire Hero.
V.B. Andrian Have patience, determination and be ready to be rejected. I have been. I'm still trying to publish most of my books. It's why I self-published my first book. It takes time to find someone who will take the risk to support you. Do whatever you can to strengthen you manuscript, and have faith in yourself. Not over-confidence. Faith.
V.B. Andrian The best thing is that I get to see the characters I have in my mind come to life. Sometimes they're really cramped in there. It's like I can feel them taking a breath of fresh air!
V.B. Andrian I usually read to get over it. Being in someone else's fantasy land helps me connect with mine. But sometimes, when the block is made of steardier material, I just start writing on a new file, anything that comes to mind about the characters' story. And I read again, and again what I've written so far. Eventually, I get over it!
