Charon Dunn Sometimes I'll write a story conference scene, where all the characters sit around a big conference table and discuss their feelings about how the story is progressing.

Or maybe I'll pull some of the characters aside and write about them having a private conversation or love scene that never makes it into the final story, although it does have a slight influence on how I tell it.
Charon Dunn Being able to focus on whatever intrigues you the most at any given moment.
Charon Dunn Write a lot, read a lot, and when you're not doing that, do things that'll inspire your stories.
Charon Dunn Volume three of the Sonny Knight series, in which the loose plot ends all get resolved. Then I think I'm moving to space, but I'm not 100% positive.
Charon Dunn I try to write every day, whether or not I'm inspired. Sometimes the solid, uninspired stuff survives the editing process intact while all the crazy inspired rants get deleted, because solid clear foundation is very important.
Charon Dunn I was playing World of Warcraft, watching Thrall take a shamanic journey through the elements, and I wondered why fantasy stories tend to stick with the four elements instead of moving on to the twelve houses of the zodiac. Then I decided to write one, except I prefer science fiction to fantasy, and also, it's more about the symbolism than the superstition because I'm kind of a skeptic. I made up a bunch of planetary symbolic characters (nods to Sailor Moon) and I set it in the far future, after all the dystopias have come and gone, just to be optimistic. It all revolves around this one guy, Sonny Knight, and his propensity for knowing people, being in the right place and skating through disasters. And then, you know, since I needed some disasters, I proceeded to throw everything but the kitchen sink at him. Maybe I'll have him survive a kitchen sink attack in volume 3, which is in progress.
