Dedra Muhammad A psychological thriller would be the truth about how COVID impacts students who must do virtual learning because of the pandemic. The horrors students face when they live in dysfunctional families and are forced to wallow in it longer than they can tolerate.
Dedra Muhammad Hi, Sara!

Thank you for your question. I am inspired to write when my heart is bursting with a song of praise, fear, hurt, or reckoning. I have the gift of adding levity to dread and education to entertainment. The length of what I've read allows me to understand better ways of expression, so I don't write based on what I've read, albeit what I've read provides a base for higher order creativity.
Dedra Muhammad It is wonderful to meet you! I have one published book. I have spent time editing for others, ghost writing, and also publishing for others.
My published work is called Making Mary.
Thank you so much for asking!

Dedra Muhammad I am not from the West Indies, and neither are my parents. My paternal heritage has origins as Gullah (Geechee) West Africans. That is an interesting question. Can you say what made you pose it?
Dedra Muhammad I am inspired to write when there is a story to be told or information crucial to share. I prefer to write fiction due to my creativity and wild imagination, but as a college and career counselor, I feel inspired to share knowledge pertaining to that field.
Dedra Muhammad I am working on
1. The Rebirth of Making Mary
2. The sequel to Making Mary (which should be unveiled in six months)
3. How to books for aspiring student athletes, and
4. Counseling and mental health short books
Dedra Muhammad Make sure you read more than you write. Writing requires imagination. The best way to develop yours is by reading, traveling, and meeting new people.
Dedra Muhammad If I have writer's block, I walk away. I cannot write unless I am an open vessel. I write what comes to mind at that moment and I don't stop. If I am blocked from that process, I change tasks and do something else that is available to my spirit.
