That is a great question! I can feel something stirring inside, but I don't quite have anything set that I am absolutely certain about -yet! That is how Sycamore Whispers happened; first a vague thought, then a tug on my heart-then suddenly my mind was flooded with a story which I became obsessed with finishing. I wish I could say it was just as simple as making a decision to write, but it really comes from somewhere beyond my logical mind.
Thank you so much for your question and your kind words about my work. It really makes a big difference!

"Tender is the Night" by F. Scott Fitzgerald for a classic, and "Shaken" by Tim Tebow for inspiration. I love books by classic authors, and I am always up for inspiration!

Blip and Evelyn Sanders from the TV series "Pitch" on Fox. As a center fielder for the San Diego Padres, Blip deals with a lot of temptations, while his wife has to spend a lot of time alone raising their children. Despite this, they are very well connected, and treat each other with love and respect. They have a very positive dynamic worth emulating!

Make a plan and follow it. Discipline yourself to put time aside to write your book, and break it down into steps. Get advice from people you trust to keep things real. As a side note, I don't type efficiently, so I used "voice to text" via Google Docs, and I found it so much easier to get my thoughts out fast.

Nothing at the moment, but I have had a lot of requests for a sequel to "Horse Gone Silent", so that is definitely something that may materialize! Right now, I am adjusting to people referring to me as an "author". Just a short time ago I was simply Shane Ledyard the "horseman". I never imagined so much positive feedback and success. It is very humbling and I am extremely grateful.

I make my living in the horse business, and I get exposed to a lot of great horse stories. "Horse Gone Silent" was inspired by a friend of mine's horse that led a tumultuous, yet incredibly meaningful life unlike any other that I had ever heard about. The horse's life had such a profound impact on so many people.
