My most recent novel 'Lost Words' I would say is influenced by the Inkheart series. The possibility that characters live on after the novel was written was interesting for me. This is what led me to play about with it and wonder what would happen if we were to go into any of our favourite books and meet the characters after the story has ended. I thought this could be interesting but it might seem weird to the characters that we, the reader knows everything they have just done. So, it struck me what if the characters never had control over what happens in their story and once the story has ended, they are dumped into a world with other characters who have no longer been needed.

I have finished the sequel to 'Tridea's Children' and currently working on a novel in which takes the character into the world of novels. That is all I will say for now, the novel is nearing completion.

The best thing is the ability to work on something you enjoy doing. The joy of creating a new world, characters and travelling with them on new adventures. The only downside is finding the right time to write without distractions.

I tend to deal with writer's block by heading down to the library, park or lake and plugging some headphones in. This will often get eight hundred to a thousand words written in an hour or so.
