Dawn Cano I never thought I had it in me to become an author and it wasn't until I was challenged by one of my favorite authors, Matt Shaw, that I decided to pursue the dream of writing a story. He told me that if I wrote something, he would take the time to read it and tell me how to make it better. I wrote "Sleep Deprived" and sent it to him, panicking until I heard back. He got back to me the next day and said that it was better than some of the books he'd read by more seasoned authors. He went on to tell me how to get my work out there for the world to see, and the rest is history.

I wrote one other story before this in college. It was about the abuse I'd suffered as a kid and although it went on to be published in the school's newsletter, I never gave writing a second thought after that. It was just something I never felt I was good at, and in truth, I still don't.

Reviewing is still something I enjoy and I read more than 100 books each year. That will never change.

Thanks for the questions. :)
