Travel is also a great way to inspire writing. Being in another place opens up many ideas and is a great re-energiser. Things are different and new and you get to appreciate the 'big picture' and put things into perspective.

With Tax Tips That Add Up I really wanted to pass information on to the consumer about some key strategies that could apply to them and that may not have been looked into by either their accountant or themselves.
There are accountants in the industry who unfortunately quite simply do the minimum or only what is asked of them and they never delve deeper and really look at tax saving benefits. They fill the tax return out - end of story.
Whatever happened to 'Tax Planning'? Genuinely looking at a customer's circumstances, asking questions and using all the benefits that stem legally from actual policy!
Good proactive accountants are very frustrated by what is often referred to as the 'form filler accountant'. They dumb down the industry and do not provide a professional service or add value.
Too many people are paying too much tax.

Discipline. I follow Stephen King's principles. I read a lot and I write a lot. I block out a specific period of time each day and I use that time. If I don't achieve the word quota I set myself then I extend that time and keep working on it until I achieve the target.
