Cozy- a subgenre of mysteries https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cozy_my....
Wikipedia explains it well. No gratuitous violence or foul language, cozies are a gentler read. The focus is on the protagonist, who is often an unwitting amateur sleuth. It is a fun read, often focusing on a professional (such as a librarian or a chef) who solves the mystery with the help of friends and a police contact in the community. Readers enjoy solving the puzzle of 'who did it and they like following their favourite characters in a cozy series. It is a popular read among women and men, as character development is a big part of the story. Subgenres of cozies are numerous, countries, holidays, professions, etc.

Will I get through all four? I want to. I hope to. If not, they will be front on centre on my TBR list.

Adopted children wonder who their parents are. Who, what, when, where and why - all mystery questions. I did find out about my real parents, what the circumstances were, when, where (Toronto) and why. Many authors work from the premise of adoption or abandonment. It can make for a compelling story.

Hi Mary Jo, Thanks! My first book, a non-fiction was completed in 1995, a five year work. With the advent of self-publishing and my discovery of cozy mysteries, I published the first book in 2015 and started writing again a little over a year ago. It's fun.
I see you have a cozy series and it is also on my 'want to read' list. :)

Hi Eric: That is sad, I was four when I lost my mom. hope you had more time to know and love her. When you mention missing pieces - events in her life or pieces about who she was and what she meant to those who loved her, you most of all. If the family doesn't want to help, that is how they choose to manage their grief. Send me an email at themakingofafuneral.director@gmail.com with what you have written, what you want to write. I can't know what is in your heart and soul Eric, but I will look at it for you. It's a journey, a lifetime one, let's walk a few steps together through your writing.
