I can finally answer this question. I'm working on Book Three of The Crystal Crux series. I was hoping to release it by the end of October but it looks like, with all the editing I'm doing, it will be sometime in November.

Write for yourself. I know that smacks in the face of what many "experts" say but I know how much time and passion I put into my art and there is no way I want to sacrifice that much for something I don't love - that is only put out there to sell. While making sales is nice, and to have more sales would be even nicer - to know you did your best on something you value, is pure heaven. I never want to look back and say, "Well, that sold well, but I don't like it." Write what is in your heart.

Learning. I decided from the get that I wasn't going to write what is trendy or write only to sell. I decided I would write what I wanted to write about and let the audience decide for themselves whether or not it was any good. This decision has allowed me the freedom to learn about subjects I've always wanted to research, and incorporate this new knowledge into my stories. It has been the best education of my life.

Luckily, for me, this hasn't been a problem. My biggest problem is time, finding the time to sit and work. Most of the blocks are simply research issues. Writing historical fantasy, I have to investigate so many different elements to make scenes work but the best part is, all these places and things I investigate have legs of their own and actually serve to open doors to additions I can make that I hadn't even imagined. And all these open doors make sure there is never any blockage.
