Susan Faw Interesting. I remember when I was about sixteen encountering a ghost in the home where we lived (we rented) I often wondered why it chose to show up then, when my parents were in the midst of their divorce. My mother was under care in a hospital for psychiatric issues at the time. I still think to this day it was trying to tell me something. Warn me perhaps. I wasn't afraid of it, it felt like family. I feel like it was a relative, somehow related to my mother. If ghosts or spirits could talk, this one would have a lot to say.
Susan Faw I really love the dynamic between Richard and Kahlan in Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth Series. In the early books they suffered enormously to ignore a love that could not be, and yet love grew anyways. I truly believe that the power of love can overcome all, and it was very satisfying to see how they eventually solved the issue of her Confessor's powers.
Susan Faw As it is a sequel, it is a continuation of Seer of Souls, the next step in the journey. I am merely an observer, so I try to keep up to where everyone is going! I am very much a discovery writer, so the journey in writing the book is just as much fun for me, as it is for you, the reader :-)
Susan Faw I have always wanted to write, creatively. I have always written, corporately. Just recently did I give myself permission to do the first, and Seer of Souls is it! I used to play a game with my sister, before we could read or write (age 3/4?) where we would pick a picture in a National Geographic magazine and then had to create a story based on the picture. We played this for hours and hours, living out our little stories in our bedroom.
Susan Faw I am currently writing the sequel to Seer of Souls, it is a trilogy, so this is book two i am working on. I also have a book up on Wattpad that I am writing and that pesky Nanowrimo novel that I am finishing up.
Susan Faw Put in the work. There are no short cuts. Learn the craft, attend seminars and conventions, network with those in the industry. Do yourself a huge favour and teach yourself (or take a course or two!) on how to use social media. No one is going to promote you, better than you! Do this way before you think you want to publish. No one wants to read garbage, including you!
Susan Faw Discovering the worlds lurking in my mind. They are truly fascinating places and I can happily spend all day wandering around in them!
Susan Faw Usually I sleep on it. My best thoughts come together in my dreams. The second place I seem to get creative, is the shower. Maybe it's because i know i will not be distracted while in the shower?
