J.L. Delozier Not very well - lol! Seriously, I just do the best I can by focusing on online events, which don't take as much time, and limiting in-person events. I schedule tweets and Facebook postings in advance. Marketing is most author's least favorite part of the job, and I'm no different.
J.L. Delozier Two hours after Daryl returned from burying his wife, Jane, his phone rang. It was Jane.
J.L. Delozier Hundred Acres Wood. I'd visit all the big tourist spots, of course, but I'd spend most of my time in Pooh's Thoughtful Place, where I'd dream up stories of my own.
J.L. Delozier The Fourth Monkey by J.D. Barker, MatchUp by Lee Child, and Palindrome by E.Z. Rinsky
J.L. Delozier How the heck, in a family of brown-eyed Italians, did I end up with hazel eyes?
I know the answer already - a recessive gene - but it's a lot sexier to create a story filled with subterfuge, infidelity, and intrigue than to blame one's genes. One of my aunts - Toni, natch - shares my coloring. As a child, I spent a lot of time with her and considered her to be the coolest, most fun aunt EVER. She would definitely be the protagonist of this story. Think "The Godfather" minus all the blood and horse heads...

J.L. Delozier I get inspired by IDEAS, which I jot down for future use. I don't believe you should wait until you are inspired to write. You should write as regularly as possible, inspired or not. The muse sitting on your shoulder - she doesn't exist!
J.L. Delozier Working title: Storm Shelter. Originally intended as a stand alone novel, but I loved my protagonist, Dr. Persephone Smith, from Type and Cross so much, I wasn't ready to let her go. I had to set Storm Shelter a decade prior to make it work, but it was worth it. I guess you could technically call it a prequel.
J.L. Delozier Allocate your time wisely. Schedule a certain amount of time every day to devote to your writing career, even if you aren't writing. Learn about querying agents, publicity campaigns, social media-everything you can so when the big day comes, you're prepared!
J.L. Delozier Working in one's slippers and pjs. Seriously, doesn't EVERY author say that?!
J.L. Delozier So far, I haven't experienced writer's block, although I'm sure my time will come!
